September List of Challenges

Welcome, I have created this Tab for the Challenge Lists and as from Today they will appear here so that they are easier to find.  Make sure you follow the links and read the rules for the Challenges you want to particpate in.

I will update this list throughout the month as Challenges become available or I find Challenges I was unaware of or get permission from Challenges I am awaiting permission to include.  Some Challenges are not available until the 4th, 10th or the 21st of the month so make sure you check back for more fantastic Chalenges.

Please if there are any Challenges you are aware of that I have missed let me know.
I am really loving participating in Challenges, it is getting me to craft more often, to do projects I may otherwise save to do later, and some there is the added challenge of completing them when I have limited supplies that meet the requirements but that just adds to the fun.

So now for the list, I will provide a link to each challenge that has a direct link for it and either their Facebook page, website, shop, whichever is appropriate so you have all the details you could possibly need.
Those that are in a Facebook Group I will link to the group, please contact admins of the group to let them know you are joining to participate in the challenges or look at the challenges as some admins have requested this due to the waiting list.

As promised here is a list of Challenges that would suit creating Project Life layouts.
Scrap the Boys have said they will accept PL layouts.
Scrap the Girls have said they will accept PL layouts.
Kraft+ Challenge accepts tradition layouts, art journalling, tags, etc so this challenge would suit PL I think.

Pixels and Paper accepts all forms of Scrapbooking and Memory Keeping.
ARTastic Challenge Blog accepts all forms of Scrapbooking as entries.
Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia accepts PL entries.
Show us your stuff accepts PL entries.

Funky Flair Inspiration Studio accepts PL entries.
Scrapbook Boutique accepts scrapbooking, off the page, etc so I think it would suit PL.  The new challenge is posted on the 10th of each month.
Dusty Attic states in the August Moodboard Entry Rules (so assuming it is the same for September) that your project can be anything you desire including layouts, cards or off the page so it sounds like PL will be accepted.

As for the other Challenges I haven't included in the PL list, I will try to contact them to check if they will accept PL entries, you are welcome to contact them also.

Scrapbooking Top 50 Australian Super Challenge Week 4

I did a quick simple layout for Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia Super Challenge Week 4.
This fantastic challenge is running over 6 weeks and is inspired by the TV show The Block, each week we renovate a new room and we get a choice I 2 room styles, I chose room 2 this week and this was the perfect challenge for this cute photo of our dog Lily decided the toddler couch is her new bed.

As you can see in my quick process video I had not real plan I just grab out stuff and played until I had something I was happy with.

I chose to use papers from Studio Calico Atlantic paper pad, blue chipboard shapes from Bo Bunny, a variety of letters from Creative Memories, Kaszazz and Kmart.

I had so much fun doing this quick layout.

Pixels and Paper September Challenge

I took a little break from my big messy project that I unfortunately can't share yet and did a quick, simple layout for this month's Pixels and Paper Challenge.  I loved the colour combination this month, a lovely purple with yellow and green just gorgeous.

I also did my first process video.  There is a issue with the audio towards the end, I have no idea what has gone wrong, it is all there in the file, everything plays fine until I hit publish.  If I can fix it I will.

I used the cute vellum pocket and tag from my Lincraft Haul>
I used the scallop of it to hide the part of the butterfly for jewellery making that beads normally hang from at the bottom.

I also used some green grosgrain ribbon, some paper roses, a sheet from My Mind's Eye Collectable Notable  6x6 Pad, scrap from Kaisercraft Violet Crush, a random scrap, Stampin Up purple cardstock and a scrap of yellow cardstock from American Crafts.

Though I have finished and uploaded my page I want to add the word Beeautiful (inspired from the photo)) as I think my daughter is beautiful but my hand is playing up so writing is out and I don't have the right lettering so it will have to wait until my hand is better.
I can't wait to give this album to my daughter so she can journal her memories.
Are you participating in Pixels and Paper's Challenge this month?

Kraft+ September Moodboard Layout

Sorry there has been a gap in content, I have been working on a few special projects that can't be shared for some time and they needed to be created before working on this months Challenges and other layouts.  I have also been reorganising my craft space so that I could set up a camera to film process videos and tutorials, this impacted my craft time but now that I am all set up I am looking forward to more crafting time.
Now that my camera is set up this was going to be my first process video but unfortunately at the end I discovered I hadn't hit record like I thought I had, so sorry my next layout will have to be my first process video.  I have done a walk through video instead.
I love that Kraft+ Challenge is encouraging double layouts this month so I created a double 8x8 layout for the album I am doing for my daughter and her pregnancy journey.

As usual I started by going through my embellishments for items in the colours of the moodboard.
I selected die cuts from Kaisercraft Charlotte's Dream Collectables that the colours reminded me of watermelons and honeydew melons, white die cut butterflies I recieved in a die cut swap which I then coloured with CTMH blue and pink mini pigment inks, gorgeous apricot flowers from D-lish Scraps, honeyew melon shade of green mini paper roses from Kaisercraft.
I selected a few papers from this paper pad from Studio Calico that had melon colours in.
I chose this goreous paper as it had lovely watermelon pinks, a lovely honeydew hint of green, a small amount of rockmelon orange and I loved those yellow dots.

I selectively cut the paper so that I could have the most of the different melon colours showing without losing too much behind photos or losing too much of the Kraft paper as that is the hero of this challenge.
I also used the top strip from 2 sheets in the pad that are pink and blue and cut flags from them to use on the pages.

I love the softness of the ink on the white die cut butterflies.
Butterflies are a feature througout her album as a butterfly is in the logo for HG Awareness.  I thought the ribbon was purple and blue but I wish to correct myself the Awareness logo is pink and blue.

This is a difficult layout to photograph as the photos are not great quality due to it being in a A&E with dimmed lights and a very stressful situation but I felt as Hyperemisis Gravidarum is such a significant part of her pregnancy journey documenting her A&E trips, Hospital admissions, etc was very important.
I loved the photo series in the right hand side as it is her youngest brother who is a real hugger sneaking to give her one of his big hugs and our second youngest being very gentle and just leaning near her as he was so worried about her.

Are you participating in the Kraft+ Challenge this month?  If so are you going to do a double page layout?

100 Days Project Day 2 to Day 10

Over the last 9 days we had our daughter stay with us with her significant other for 3 days, hosting her baby shower and reorganisting furniture including my workspace so creating was difficult with my boys sleeping on the floor in front of my desk for 2 nights and then desks being packed up and moved but I still created embellishments even if they were tied into the baby shower or to decorate the Guestbook or just a single flag.
Here are days 2 to 10 of 100 Days Of Embellishments, my project for the 100 Days Project.
Day 2 I created some Washi Flags with toothpics and some cute washi.
Day 3 I created punch art babies for the Thank you tags at the Baby Shower.
Day 4 I used part of a paper doily and a butterfly punched from wrapping paper to decorated a Hyperemisis Gravidarum Awareness tags.

Day 5 I decorated some paperclips to use to decorate the Baby Shower Guestbook pages now that everyone has left a message in it.

Day 6 I used a offcut from some of the paper used in Baby Shower Guestbook to create a flag.

Day 7 I had a pile of scalloped circles punched from book pages for a class earlier this year that weren't used on the day so I decided to turn them into flowers.

Day 8 I made some cute ribbon clips, the purple one will be used in my pocket filofax and the pink are a present for someone.

Day 9 I made these blocks made from cardstock, hubby had suggested them on Day 3.

Day 10 I made some half flowers from beading wire to use in embellishment clusters.

Are you participating in the 100 Days Project?  I would love to see your project.
Do you like to create your own embellishments?

D-lish Scraps August Moodboard

I loved the triangles in this month's D-lish Scraps Inspiration Board and the colour scheme gave me a excuse to opened 2 of my favourite 6x6 paper pads.  I chose to use a photo of my son that I quickly took during a tour of the High School he will go to next year in the STEM room, he was having a bad pain day so a smile was not going to happen despite how happy and excited he was about a STEM room.

I selected 3 papers from each paper pad and cut triangles from each paper with my 12 inch trimmer.

I picked out these items from my leftovers from the June 2015 Just Add Paper Kit from D-lish Scraps as I felt they could be useful in the layout.
I also grabbed my DIY Enamel Dots as the dark blue would suit this layout, some yellow embroidery floss and a selection of die cuts from Kaisercraft Garage Days.
I wished I had more than 1 of the cute paper straws left but I made do by cutting it into 6 pieces to adhere under my photo mat.

Happy Litttle Mistakes again changed how I expected to do my layout.  I used a different adhesive that wasn't as repositionable as the one I prefer and I needed to reposition some of my triangles which caused some small tears so I used the embroider floss, tire die cuts and some gears to hid the tears, they were only 3 small tears but if I only covered them the page didn't feel finished so I added more to help it feel balanced.

Jot Magazine August Moodboard

When I saw the Jot Magazine August Moodboard I knew it was the perfect inspiration for scrapping my daughter's first time touring when she was 19 as a cellist with Elvis To The Max for his Mackay and Rockhampton performances.  But which photo to use.  I decided to use a photo of her with Max and some of the other musicians with their instruments.

I started by selecting various embellishments that may suit the layout and some scraps of red paper and a sheet of grey paper from the 6x6 pad from Kaisercraft's Through The Looking Glass range.  I also grabbed some die cuts from Kaisercraft Close Up Collectables.

I wanted this layout to be fairly quick and simple to create as I want to get as many challenges done this month I can.

First I did some stenciling on the smooth side of my white cardstock but I was not happy with the results so I flipped the cardstock over and used a red Mister Hueys spray to do some droplets by taking the nozzle out and giving it a shake.

I got these gorgeous music brads some time ago, I don't remember the brand but I love them, I added the flower to cover up something that I didn't want visible.  There are no mistakes in scrapbooking, just happy accidents that allow you to change your layout by moving things or adding things.

I was working on this embellishment cluster when I spotted this cute felt bow that was included in my small order from Rainbow Splendour and I just had to add it in as it is black and glittery which is perfect.

Some of the red Mister Hueys Spray got on my Memories tag accidentally despite it not being near the cardstock but I really like the effect.
I tore a piece of washi in half length ways and added it to the bottom left and top right of the page.
I stamped some cute stars with CTMH Slate Ink after I had finished the layout.

My finished layout, I intentionally have not completely finished it as I want my daughter to do the journaling and I will add the Title once I have her journaling to add.
Appologies for the layout looking like the red paper is not straight, my usual surface for photographing my layout is currently not available so I had to take this photo on a chair which was not flat.
Have you partcipated in any Challenges this month?  If so please share them with me.
