NSD with Kitaholic Kits - 10 Minute Challenge

I had 3 wonderful Cyber Crops to attend over the weekend for National Scrapbooking Day, I intended to create each day over the long weekend but things didn't go to plan so inspired by the various challenges I promised myself early Monday morning I would pick something from each NSD event and create it at some point over the next 2 weeks.  Kitaholic Kits 10 minute challenge felt like the perfect challenge for someone who had very limited scrapping time and since I usually knock out layouts in 15 to 30 minutes I was hopeful of success.  As you will see when you watch the video that timer ticking down makes a big difference.

I decided to use one of my Kitaholic Kits from 2017, I can't remember which month this one was but it was the kit that had Cocoa Vanilla Wild At Heart items in it.

As I included my pre-sorting of supplies in the video it wound up too long to upload with my internet speeds so I have edited down the pre-sorting of supplies.

Here is my finished layout.  I really love how it turned out.

How cute is the Memorymaze chipboard piece?  It worked perfectly with the supplies from my Kitholics Kit, especially with the pale purple ink I coloured it with.  Total fluke that the colour matches the little crochet flower.
A quick cluster using 2 of the die cuts pack that was in the kit from Kitaholic Kits and a butterfly bead from a old Scrapping Fun Kits embellishment kit.

Counterfiet Kit Challenge Guest Designer - Challenge 1 Old and New

The first Challenge from Counterfiet Kit Challenge this month is Old and New, I used this prompt not only with selecting supplies but also my photos.

It was suggested when I posted this photo of a 7yr me to find out where it was that I should include a current photo of London Bridge at the 12 Apostles on the Great Ocean Road since where I am standing with my Mum and Uncle Des collapsed into the ocean in 1990 so this prompt had me really wanting to scrap these photos.

These gorgeous little wood veneer hearts are new to my stash, I recieved them in a RAK I recieved in February.
I love them.
The flower sticker, white rose and Good Times sticker are some older items in my stash, not my oldest but they have been in  it for over a year.  It was great using up some of my older supplies.

The background paper and Thickers are from my Kitaholic Kits January Main Kit, I also used some other papers that are new to my stash from a couple of 6x6 paper pads I recently bought and a gorgeous floral from a My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad Heike gave me for my 40th.
The older papers I used are a blue wave paper that is hard to see in the photo from a American Crafts Atlantic paper pad and this fun pink paper that is at the back of my layers that has words on it in a darker pink which is from a old cheap pad from Lincraft.

I have left lots of room for journaling as I don't have any clear memories from this trip so my Mum's best friend is writing up her memories for me and sending them to me from Germany.

Back To School with Kitaholic Kits

I received my first Main Kit from Kitaholic Kits and I love it, as soon as I saw it I knew it was perfect for Back To School photos of my kids.  The blue goes well with their uniforms and the summery feel is perfect for this time of year.  I wanted to play straight away but school doesn't go back until the 24th.  Thankfully I had apparently missed scrapping the 2014 Back To School photo so I was able to play with this gorgeous kit earlier  than expected.

I love the grungy look of the Mistable letters though I am not sure if I like them for this layout or if I should save them for another.

Here is the finished layout without the mistable thickers, this is one of those times were I leave it and spend some time deciding if I want them on the layout or not.
