Harmony Day TN layout - Scrapping on the Tilt Train - Scrapping Fun Kits Design Team

I decided to pack the flat items from the May 2019 Awareness kit to take with me on the Tilt Train so I could get some special Awareness Day photos scrapped on my journey.
I do love TN scrapping and 8x8 scrapping for occupying my time while I travel on the Tilt Train, you can see some of my posts about this Here.

I had forgotten that I had taken the scissors out of my travel pencil case so this layout and the 8x8 I created which I will share with you in my next post are featuring paper tearing.  Silly me but I love how the layouts turned out.  Thankfully I had pre-cut my photos and some white cardstock to use as mats.

I added some other flat orange items to my train stash for this trip so that I would have some options for building layers and embellishing when scrapping my Harmony Day photo.  I had forgotten to print the other photo needed for this spread so I went with a single page layout on the right hand page of a spread and I will do another layout with the same supplies on the left page when I get my second photo printed.

I brought my favourite Helmar glues on this trip as I would need them for the 8x8 layout so I adhered my layers and photo down with Helmar Acid Free Glue.

I picked out 2 papers that worked well with my photo and tore them to a size that would suit.  I even tore a little section out from the middle where it would be hidden behind the photo.  I used this on the bottom right corner.    Adding a sticker from a old sticker sheet I scored at a destash to this cluster.
This cluster formed a perfect base to add the year to my layout.

I then added Harmony Day to the top right corner to balance things out.

And my layout was done.  I love how it turned out.

If you would like to order one of these kits please head to the Subscription Tab and fill out the form, enter May in the promo code box so I know which kit you would like to order.

Strong Man - Scrapping Fun Kits DT

The wood veneer Strong in the Scrapping Fun Kits May Fundraising Kit was just the prompt I needed to pull out the photos from this wonderful night and record this story.

The paper from the kit was the perfect mat for drawing the eye to E as he was wearing a blue shirt.
I built my layers with a strip of the zebra tissue paper from the kit and this cute doodle paper from a Kaisercraft #Me 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad.  I also grabbed 2 borders from this paper pad and a die cut arrow and circle.  And for my background I used a sheet of Echo Park Soccer Words Paper.

I partially matted my ticket on a scrap of black cardstock to help it pop and give some protection to the rest of the layout if the acid and lignin in the ticket become a issue at a later date.

I adhered the sweatband he wore as part of his costume down with some Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive on the back.

I divided the Beautiful die cut from the cut apart in the May Fundraising Kit into 3 pieces and tucked it behind various layers in the layout.  It added just the right amount of blue to the right hand side of the page and some cute dimension.

The arrow from the 6x6 paper pad was a great way to ground the wood veneer from the kit, I also pointed it towards my son in the photo to draw the eye to him.

I love how this layout turned out.  The orange and blue worked really well together.

Scrapping memories of Connor - Scrapping Fun Kits Design Tea

Today I wanted to share with you a layout recording my memories of some of Connor's love of all things STEM/STEAM using the April STEM/STEAM Kit.

I prepared for this layout by typing up the 3 memories I wanted to record and printing them and then sorting through my photos to find pictures of him around the ages that each memory is from.

I knew I wanted to have his name at the top and I wanted to use the awesome STEAM wood veneer from Corbett Creations but I didn't have any other plans for how this layout would come together, here is the Process Video so you can see how it all came together from a messy pile on my desk to being a layout I absolutely love.

I loved what Lisa did with the wood veneer so I had to do it on this layout, unfortunately I wouldn't realised until I was taking photos of the layout that my words are upside down, oh well adds to the quirk.

I just love how this cluster came together.
How cute is the wood veneer compass?

This Robot washi was just perfect to have near 4 year old Connor, cute little cartoon robots to enhance my memory of the first  time he said he wanted to be a  Robotic Engineer when he grows up.

I have absolutely loved this kit, I have loved creating it and recording memories with it.
If you would like one there are just 2 left so head to the Subscription Tab at Scrapping Fun Kits and fill in the form.  Enter STEM or STEAM into the promo code box so I know you want one of these kits.

Cake - Scrapping Fun Kits Design Team

As I was creating my layout for the March White with 1 Challenge with the St Paddy's Kit and other kits I was inspired to scrap this photo of my son at my birthday a couple of years ago using the emerald green chiffon flower from the St Paddy's Kit and other goodies.

I love how that little scrap of the green felt trim added a little bit of texture to this cluster.

My trusty Helmar's Professional Acid Free Glue was perfect for adhering my embellishments down.

Cutting up the shamrock doily allowed me to use it on this layout to give a little more texture.

I love how this layout turned out.  The St Paddy's kit was perfect for recording this memory.  If you would like one of these fun kits there are still a couple left so head to the Subscription Tab and fill in the form.

Kaisercraft Factory 42 - Making Memories - Get Crafty Design Team

Today I have a Get Crafty Design Team layout for you using Kaisercraft Factory 42.
When I saw Kaisercraft Factory 42 I knew it was the perfect range for scrapping our day at the first ever Fraser Pop Pop Culture Festival.   The grungy steampunk feel is perfect for cosplay photos.  Other colours could be added if needed but I didn't need to with the photos I was working with.

My pack came with 6 papers from the range, 10 of these lovely black flowers, a metre of black ricrac, a navy blue tassel that will be great on my planner and these cute typewriter style alphas.

I started by trimming off the zip strips off all the papers to use as additional layers in layouts, then I cut the cut apart sheet up.
I sorted the words from the cut aparts and the zip strips into suitable for Father's Day, suitable for this layout and other.

The ricrac and flowers from the Get Crafty pack went really well with the overall layout.

I added some left over gears from the Scrapping Fun Kits May Kit to pull the gears from the background paper to the front.

I also have a Process Video for you so you.

I am really happy with how my layout turned out.  I love that I have so many layers and texture without a lot of bulk as the papers were full of texture and the brick pattern paper has other textures on it so while you see the bricks on the left there is another texture on the right.

Will you be using Factory 42 in any layouts?

Head to Get Crafty for more inspiration and to order supplies.

Ouch - Scrapping Fun Kits Design Team

Here is my second layout using the Scrapping Fun Kits May Kit.

I typed this story up last year after a prompt in a magazine inspired me to fill a word doc with stories and print them.
The journaling and photo have been waiting on my desk to be scrapped for some time.

I used the same light grey cardstock for my background as I did with my layout Brothers.
And I used more of these cute blue stars are from Studio Calico, I got in my grab bag from My Scrapbook Room. This time using just the light blue stars in the pack.

I added some of the washi to the top right corner to help balance things out and ground the gears.

It is important to scrap the memories we otherwise would avoid in our albums as they aren't happy.

Why don't you sit down and type up a few stories you haven't told in your albums and maybe scrap some of them.

Scrapping Fun Kits May Kits have sold out and there are only a couple of June Kits left so if you haven't ordered a June Kit yet make sure you head to the Subscription Tab at Scrapping Fun Kits Blog and order one asap.
