Scrap the Girls November Challenge - We're All Mad Here

Every month I promise myself I will do at least one challenge and then I get caught up in the chaos of life and creating and before I know it I am typing up the next challenge list.  I was determined to do this month's Scrap the Girls Challenge as it was the perfect prompt for getting photos of myself cosplaying the Cheshire Cat at FraserPop 2.0 scrapped.

I also had the perfect kit for it, the kit I created because I needed Alice In Wonderland themed supplies to scrap these memories.  SHHHH this is a sneak peek of a 2019 kit from Scrapping Fun Kits ;)

I won't go into details of how I created this project in this post as I literally sat down to create this page at 430pm on November 30th and I am typing this a 545pm so I am under the crunch to get it entered and  I would like to share the how it came together with you when the kit is released, including a process video for it.  So for now here is a pic of my layout.  I hope you like it and it inspires you to either enter Scrap the Girls in December or create a Alice themed layout :)

White with 1 November Challenge - ET Awareness - Guest DT

When I saw the colour prompt for this month it was really special to me as I have been planning to do a fundraiser inspired by my Mum's journey with a rare blood cancer next year and had just started to select items for that kit.  The colour for Essential Thrombocythlamia is Orange so the kit will have some lovely orange bits.

This was a difficult layout for me to do mentally as I was working on it in October which is always a tough month for me as her anniversary and her birthday both fall in October but I think it was a important step in my journey of grief.

I wanted to make a TN sized layout to add into my October Daily as a tip in for the date of her anniversary, so I cut some watercolour paper to size as my base.

I pulled out my orange bits from the fundraising kit and from my October 2017 kit.  As well as my Distress Oxide in Carved Pumpkin and just started playing.

Here is a process video showing how it came together.  The next day I decided to change it a little so check out the below pic for the finished result.

In addition to the paper bag I added a label and flower from the October 2017 Kit cut apart and added a number 9 sticker to form a sort of date cluster for my October Daily.

I greatly appreciate all the support I had with my fundraiser in May.  Due to the support of my subscribers and fans I was able to make a good sized donation and with your continued support hope to do so again next year.  I will announce which charity it will be as soon as I have the donation approval letter from them, so make sure to check our social media regularly so you don't miss out on this announcement as Facebook doesn't always show you posts from pages you follow.

Selfie - White with 1 August Challenge Guest DT for Scrapping Fun Kits

I was so excited when I saw the August colour for White with 1as it is one of the colours featured in the Scrapping Fun Kits, September 2018 Kit so you are getting a special sneak peek of September with this layout.
There is a Special Offer for White with 1 fans and Scrapping Fun Kits fans, if you order and pay for the August and September Kits the September will ship with your August Kit, so if you order in the first week of the month depending on how the post is going it should reach you with enough time to create a gorgeous layout for August White with 1.  This offer is only available to Australian residents due to the delays that can occur with International Post.

Unfortunately I forgot to use this month's sketch but my layout kind of turned out looking like the sketch so I wonder if it was in the back of my mind while I was creating.

In addition to the gorgeous Yellow items from the September 2018 Kit I used the White lace and daisies from the August 2018 Kit, the white flower from our School Kit and the Yellow butterfly charm from the September 2017 kit.

I started with the gorgeous Yellow Daisy paper and placed my 3 photos I was trying to decide on on it to work out which one suited this paper best.  Once that photo was decided on I knew I needed to use the Selfie word with this photo.  It is a selfie my daughter took in the car mirror on her way to her first ever day volunteering to fundraise for Starlight Children's Foundation.

I then played with the flowers to created a cluster and the lace from the August kit.  Once I had a basic idea of how this would work I started gluing things down with Helmar Acid Free Glue and Helmar Craft Glue.
The little daisies from the August 2018 Kit added a lovely little pop to the flower cluster.

I added the yellow straw and vintage crochet flower to the left side of the paper and flower cluster, along with the white lace daisy from the August 2018 Kit, it really helped finish off the main part of the layout.

Once I had the main part of the layout done I felt it needed something else so I decided to add some of this gorgeous washi to the top right and bottom left corner and to pull it in with the main part of the layout I added a piece under the main part of the layout, thankfully I hadn't glued the paper all the way to the edge.

I decided to add some of the yellow lace to the washi on the corners so then added it under the white lace to pull that in too.  I added a layer under the middle of the white lace which gives a nice hint through the white.

I also added the little daisies to the corner clusters to help make the corner clusters balance with the rest of the layout.
And I finished off the top cluster with this Yellow Butterfly Charm from the September 2017 Kit.

I finished my layout with a yellow doodle border, off camera.  I love the finished layout.

There are still a few spaces left for August and September so if you would love these kits head to the Subscription Tab and fill in the form.  If you want both click for a single kit enter September in the promo code so I know you want a 2 month subscription.

Back to School - White with 1 June Challenge Guest DT for Scrapping Fun Kits

Raelene here with my Guest Designer layout for the White with 1 June Challenge.
When I saw the name of this month's colour I just had to try and include some bits from the STEM/STEAM kit.  In addition to the bits from the April Kit I pulled out supplies from the May kit, a paper from a TN kit and supplies from a upcoming kit so I would have a variety to choose from.  Unfortunately my shade wasn't quiet right but

I was torn between photos of the boys first days of school this year or photos from morning tea with my cousin last year, in the end I went with the school photos as Mr C loves space so the prompt really drew me to recording a memory specific to my boys.

Due to the length of my ribbon I decided to do a TN layout as it was only a couple of millimetres too short so I cut it so the gap would be behind the embellishment on the journalling spot, this flair from the May 2017 Kit hid the gap nicely.

Instead of the journalling the sketch shows I cut down a paper bag to size and used some Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue to stick the base and side back together and used this for some hidden journalling, the sketch had a small tab on the journalling card so the flap of the bag was perfect for this.

As this layout is about how technology has allowed my kids to attend school from home and learn about all kinds of wonderful things I decided to use the Mars Rover Flair and a Moon Sticky note for the bottom embellishment cluster with 2 cute washi from the TN Kits.

I love how this layout turned out.

Zebra Strong - Moodboard Challenge - Scrapping Fun Kits DT

The May Moodboard is inspired by my and my children's journey with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS so I wanted to document part of that journey for the Moodboard Challenge.

I chose this photo of my hand taped to stabilise my finger that keeps dislocating.

I used part of the paper from the May Fundraising Kit (note my colour is slightly different to the rest of the team and the customer kits as my copy was a misprint), a strip of the zebra tissue paper which I tore at each end layered on top the blue butterfly paper to mat my photo with.
I cut my photo in 2 and trimmed a little off so it could be spread over the 2 pages in my TN.

I then journalled on my page about how the taping helped reduce the frequency of my finger dislocating.

A quick layout but I love the results.

Scrapping Fun Kits is fundraising for Starlight Children’s Foundation this month.
All profits from sales of the May Embellishment Kit and kit extras will be donated to Starlight Children’s Foundation.  If you would like to donate directly to Starlight Children’s Foundation you can do so via their website  https://starlight.org.au/donation-form

If you would love to have one of these kits or a mini kit head to the Subscription Tab and fill in the form.  For mini kits add the word mini into the promo code box.

NSD with Kitaholic Kits - 10 Minute Challenge

I had 3 wonderful Cyber Crops to attend over the weekend for National Scrapbooking Day, I intended to create each day over the long weekend but things didn't go to plan so inspired by the various challenges I promised myself early Monday morning I would pick something from each NSD event and create it at some point over the next 2 weeks.  Kitaholic Kits 10 minute challenge felt like the perfect challenge for someone who had very limited scrapping time and since I usually knock out layouts in 15 to 30 minutes I was hopeful of success.  As you will see when you watch the video that timer ticking down makes a big difference.

I decided to use one of my Kitaholic Kits from 2017, I can't remember which month this one was but it was the kit that had Cocoa Vanilla Wild At Heart items in it.

As I included my pre-sorting of supplies in the video it wound up too long to upload with my internet speeds so I have edited down the pre-sorting of supplies.

Here is my finished layout.  I really love how it turned out.

How cute is the Memorymaze chipboard piece?  It worked perfectly with the supplies from my Kitholics Kit, especially with the pale purple ink I coloured it with.  Total fluke that the colour matches the little crochet flower.
A quick cluster using 2 of the die cuts pack that was in the kit from Kitaholic Kits and a butterfly bead from a old Scrapping Fun Kits embellishment kit.

If you would like to join in head to Kitaholic Kits Community Group.

Bunny Eggs - Scrapping Fun Kits DT - Moodboard Challenge

Today I am sharing my layout for the Easter Moodboard.

I decided to scrap photos of my boys with their eggs from a few years ago.

I started by using 2 of the papers from the March Embellishment kit to create some layers across my Kraft TN Insert from the Basics Kit, ten added the photos to the purple egg paper.
I added the bunny washi from the March Embellishment Kit and this lovely autumn feeling washi from the Autumn TN Kit to the top and bottom of the layout so there wasn't so much brown showing.
I then added words from the cut apart, eggs fussy cut from the journal card and the gorgeous bunny charm to finish off my layout.
This was a very quick layout to create which was really important as I only had 20 minutes of craft time on the day.

Here is the March Embellishment Kit, that I used for majority of this layout.
There are still a couple of these kits available so if you would like one head to the Subscription Tab and fill in the form.  Enter March in the promo code box so I know you want a March kit.

If you would like to enter the Moodboard Challenge just head to the Challenge Tab at Scrapping Fun Kits for details.

Project Life

Here is a list of Challenges that would suit creating Project Life layouts.  Note I do need to check the challenges that are new to the list and update this sublist.  I will update shortly.

Scrap the Boys have said they will accept PL layouts.

Scrap the Girls have said they will accept PL layouts.
Kraft+ Challenge accepts tradition layouts, art journalling, tags, etc so this challenge would suit PL I think.
ARTastic Challenge Blog accepts all forms of Scrapbooking as entries.
Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia accepts PL entries.
Show us your stuff accepts PL entries.
Scrapbook Boutique accepts scrapbooking, off the page, etc so I think it would suit PL.  The new challenge is posted on the 10th of each month.
Dusty Attic states in the August Moodboard Entry Rules (so assuming it is the same) that your project can be anything you desire including layouts, cards or off the page so it sounds like PL will be accepted.

My scrappy friends who only scrap when at a crop, or who have stopped or reduced their time scrapping for any reason I think you will love some of these, have a look at each one.
