Christmas Pocket TN set up - Ruby Rock-It Creative Team

When I saw the new Crafter's Nostalgic Treasures range I loved it's traditional colours and thought it would be perfect for my planner set up for the lead up to Christmas, journaling the events of November and December that involve traditional colours and scrapping memories that need those gorgeous traditional colours.

I have been having a bit of a creative block and my usual tactic of just sticking something down and keep sticking until I am happy with what I have hasn't worked so I used my other creative block ending tactic of picking a simple project that needs doing and just doing it.
I have wanted to try using a Field Notes sized TN as my wallet for ages and scored a cover cheaply the other week which came with a insert that had no cover on it so I decided to break my creative block by making a removable cover for my insert and see where that takes me.

I decided I wanted to use the foiled papers in the 12x12 paper pad from the Nostalgic Treasures range for my pocket TN and if this went well I would make a few items for it to give myself a cute Christmas planner to carry with me.
I loved the first paper in the pad so cut a piece measuring 5 5/8 by 7 1/2 inches.
I wrapped it around my insert, creased and then trimmed any overhang.

I then cut a piece of the gorgeous mirror gold cardstock from the Crafter's Choice Luxury A4 Gold Cardstock pack the same size, scored it and then adhered it with Helmar Acid Free Glue to the inside of my paper.  This would give the cover some needed structure and it looks gorgeous.  

Best of all my TN cover has gold elastic and gold on the inside so it coordinated beautifully with my TN cover.

I used some Distress Ink in Fired Brick around the edge of my paper.

I had a slight misalignment so I used a old border punch from my stash with the Gold cardstock I lined the inside of my cover with and punched a border for my front cover, adhering it down with glue.

I then grabbed out my pack of Crafters Choice Nostalgic Treasures Die Cuts and selected the car and a Merry Christmas die cut to use on my front cover, adhering them down with glue.

I added the word Plans under the word Christmas with some alphas from my stash to finish off the look.

I now have a adorable notebook for writing down notes about my plans for this Christmas, gift ideas, names of recipes to try, etc.

While I had the Crafters Choice Nostalgic Treasures Die Cuts out I decided to make some cute paperclips for my Christmas planning.
I sorted through the die cuts and found ones that would match back to back.

I added a glob of Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and placed my paper clip in it before adding my other die cut to the top.
I left them to dry for a while to ensure a strong hold.







I decided my cover needed something so I grabbed out my Crafters Choice Nostalgic Treasures Tag Pack and selected a tag to tie to my elastic on the front of my cover so it would look more festive.

















My final need in this TN is a reward cards insert, I followed this tutorial I found on YouTube..
I selected a foiled paper to use and got to work creating it.  I now have all my reward program cards in a easy to access folder.  Organised by frequent of usage and location where I use them, as living regionally some cards are only used when I shop in other towns. 

I love how cute and festive this set up is and now feel more confident about getting my A5 planner set up for the more detailed planning at home.

Halloween/Spring with a Sketch YouTube Hop

In addition to my October Daily Journal this year I am doing a October Daily Mini inside a Personal sized Filofax Domino in Aqua as Aqua/Teal are part of our Halloween as we participate in The Teal Pumpkin Project, so working in this size made this sketch challenging for me.

Halloween Planner Spread - Scrapping Fun Kits Design Team

Today I am up on the Scrapping Fun Kits blog with this planner spread that is part of the challenge Morgyn and I gave each other to use something from each kit in our planners.

I created a cluster with the pumpkin stack from the cut apart, 2 of the flair that I took the epoxy off and a label from the cut apart which I penned in the day on since my cluster hid the day.
Simple but cute bit of decorating for October 31st.









I am not big on decorating my planner pages as I can often have last minute appointments especially at this time of year, so like to leave space.  When decorating my pages with the October kit I wanted to have a fun spread in the last week of October but still leave ample space for last minute appointments.

I love using little stickers to mark things I need to do as it saves me writing them with my hand issues so I have a cute mailbox from Lady B Creations to mark the day I have to send orders out and a cute cupcake from a sheet that came with a old calendar to mark a relative's birthday..

I can't wait to create some scrapbooking layouts with the rest of this cute kit.

Doctor Who themed planner set up for Mr C

Mr C changed schools this term and that meant he could return to using his filofax after using a standard school diary for 2015 and 2016 and a electronic diary for the first semester of this year as that is what his schools were using.

He asked to go up to a A5 so it was fortunate that I had a TARDIS blue Pennybridge that I got on clearance at the end of 2016 as it was the cheapest way to get 2017 inserts, notepad and note paper for my husband's planner (he prefers the standard column filofax inserts over any printables I have accessed).
The handy thing with this Pennybridge is it fits the boys iPad so he can access apps that he needs to use during school hours while using his planner also.


You can see Mr C's previous set up that worked really well for him in 2014 in this video I did on both boys planner set ups.

I had spent some time over recent weeks trying to find free inserts for Mr C that would suit his needs so I printed what I had and he thought about what other things he wanted in there.  A teacher in a Planner group recommended I get him a spiraldex insert so he can track his time so I found this great insert unfortunately I can't find the original creator of this insert, the pinterest post just opens to a photo.
I also found these great study inserts, I edited them in a word doc so the class schedule/time table would be a fold out and he could have his monthly or weekly inserts open with it fully visible.

Mr C went through my sticky note and sticker collection to select some he thought would be good for him to use.

As the Pennybridge is a gorgeous TARDIS blue he asked for Doctor Who themed dividers and dashboard.

I did a Google Image search for some positive quotes from Doctor Who which lead me to discovering this gorgeous piece that features one of my favourite Dr Who quotes from an artist on Devianart, I have requested permission to use her work, hopefully I hear back from her soon.

I tried to find the artist for each piece that Mr C wanted for his dividers but unfortunately 3 of the pieces there was no identifying information available.  Finding the artist on Devianart involved me googling the name of her watermark.  
I usually would not use something that has no way to identify it but this was for Mr C so I made a exception.


The Quotes I wanted to use for him include:
"We are all stories in the end.  Just make it a good one."
"900 years of time and space, I have never met anyone who wasn't important."

"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant."

Mr C loves his new set up and is looking forward to seeing if the inserts and set up work for him.
In addition to the homework inserts, spiraldex, monthly inserts and time table I printed off a Essay Planner and Assignment Tracker for him to try.
He asked to have a sketch section, brain dump section and for me to get his Physio and OT exercises reprinted in A5 so he has quick access to them.

I still need to make him a Dr Who themed page marker as he is using the Project Life divider that he was using in his personal planner, I just added a 7th hole that I cut a slit into so that the marker can be used in either A5 or personal.

We are a week into using his new set up and he is loving having his time table open out the way it does.  He says this set up is working for him.

Winter Planner Spread - Scrapping Fun Kits Design Team

I am up on the Scrapping Fun Kits Blog Today with my Winter Planner Spread.
With accepting Morgyn's Challenge to use each kit in my planner I created a simple spread with the July Kit.

First I made a clip with some of the Vintage Lace.

As you know Scrapping Fun Kits include something planner related in each kit, usually it is a clip but this month it is cute Snowman Sticky Notes so I knew from the moment I saw them that I would use them in my planner and with using the cute Snowman I felt using the Snowman Washi to reinforce my pages was just what the spread needed.

And finally I added a few of the snowflake sequins.











I don't usually decorate so when I do I like to keep it as simple as possible so I don't lose too much space to decoration.  I love this spread, it is so cute.

I want to record what we do in Winter to add to my Journal so I have this journal spot from the cut apart to clip into each week in Winter so that when I am reminded of something we do in Winter I can add it.

Pink Planner Spread - Scrapping Fun Kits Design Team

I am up on the Scrapping Fun Kits blog today with this Planner Spread that I used the June Kit to create.
Morgyn and myself were discussing our planner funk and so I challenged her to do a planner spread each month using the current kit and she returned the challenge.  Hopefully this will get us both planning more as using my planner really does help me.

In addition to the Tassel Clip in the Kit I made a clip with one of the Fabric Buttons so that I would have a couple of cute clips availabe to bookmark important things this month.

I also have some cute clips that I got from the Studio Fourteen 40

As I had used the gorgeous rose washi from the June Kit to reinforce my pages I wanted  to add some 7mm rose washi I got from Chiogami Designs about 3 years ago to my page edges to help balance things.
I trimmed it in half lengthways so that it didn't go over onto the days of the week.
If you haven't done this before just place a strip of washi (I prefer to go a little longer than I need) on  the cut line of your trimmer so that it is approximately half way on each side  of the cut line and trim.

I also used one of the flowers from the cut apart in the June Kit in the bottom right corner to cover the checklist.

The cute mailbox sticker is from Lady B Creations mark when I will be posting the July kits to those who have paid.

















As mentioned previously June's kit is inspired by friendship and one of my best friends who inspired this kit is celebrating her 40th at the end of the month so instead of sticking a birthday sticker on her Birthday I decided to theme the week using the June Kit.

I am looking forward to adding plans into this spread.

New planner set up aka returning to what works.

Today I am up on the Scrapping Fun blog with details of my new weekly and daily planner set up. well my return to what works best for me.

I lost my Planner Groove last year and I really need my planner to work for me as having Dyspraxia, EDS & Fibro if my planner isn't working for me then I forget things so I stepped back to the inserts that worked best for my from Jen on her blog Organised Lifestyle back in 2014.

I love the weekly To Do List and Tracker in these inserts I find a weekly To Do works better for me rather than a daily.

I rarely decorate my planner inserts however my printer is being tempramental and printed lines where there shouldn't be lines so I used the washi from the Neon kit and a couple of thin neon washi from my stash to hide this.  And added some decoration using the fun hearts from the kit.

I dated my inserts with incorrect dates so the printable Morgyn created for this kit came in very handy as they covered my errors so I could date them correctly.

I have used a highlighter to mark the time between school runs so I can quickly see the chunk of time and plan it out each day.
Highlighters were the perfect thing to use with the Neon kit.
There are certain things I need to get done each week that are best done between school runs.  I don't have set days for most things as I never know if I may be called to pick up one of my kids early due to a EDS related issue.


I love that Jen's daily inserts have a seperate To Do on for at Home and Out.  I find breaking up my To Do's like this very helpful.

Now to finish planning out my week.

My planner/EDS friend Toni gave me this lovely Pocket Raspberry Finsbury to use as my wallet and I love it.
I don't change dividers or charms in this as well it lives in my bag.

Card slots have my card to my account for groceries/getting each weeks cash out and my carers card (though very few places where I live honour this card sadly).
Pocket behind card slots has stamps and postal receipts for tracking purposes, these receipts get binned when I know the person has received their item.

They are staggered to avoid bulk.

My Fauxdori Uni Planner

For my first Semester at Uni I just had a section in my main planner (my A5 Finsbury) but a bargain buy of a A5 Fauxdori came to my attention and someone suggested (sorry I can't remember who) that it would be great for Uni.
A notebook per subject was suggested and I love this idea for when I get to the more intensive note taking subjects.
So here is my work in progress set up so far.

 My $15 Fauxdori, I don't have a pen loop for it yet so the elastic is holding my pens.
I decided I want to take colourful notes so I selected a cheap 4 colour pen with my favourite colour in and the Orange Frixion I got in a RAK and I don't use Orange in my colour code very often.

 This handy writers wheel (I think that is what it is called) is paper clipped to my home made flyleaf.
Note as everything was in a filofax I had to stick things together to fit in my dori.

On the back of my Writers Wheel is a sticky note with info I need on hand for Uni.
On the right is a card holder from my A5 filofax it has my student ID and local Library card (thinking I will put washi samples in the empty pockets.
Pink sticky notes are covering personal info, blue and white are a small pile stuck to empty pockets until I get a dashboard happening.

On right is a cheap Collect & Co notebook from Big W that I covered with paper that was more me.
I couldn't afford proper books and couldn't make them myself due to my hand.

I love the layout of their pages but I will be covering the logo on each page with a sticker.

It is home to index cards for studying, paperwork from Uni, the single page of notes I made in my first subject and a letter for Uni.

On the right is the recycled/upcycled A4 page protector that I made a A5 when it was torn.
In my first subject we covered assessing websites for reliability and I saved the documents for assessing it and keep them here for reference.
