December Projects YouTube Hop - Christmas Layout Using Scraps

Inspired by the December Memories YouTube Hop I asked in some Australian Scrapbooking Groups if anyone would like to do a Hop with me and 5 wonderful crafters joined me in creating our first Hop.  Make sure you watch all 6 videos and leave a comment as there are some great prizes you could win.

Thank you Kitaholic Kits for sponsoring our first YouTube Hop.

Title Within A Title

For Task 1 from Scrapbooking Memories Masters Challenge 2016 I loved this photo of Mr C being a clown at the Doctor's while the nurse was really worried about him.  So I typed up the story with the Title of Clowning Around and then when creating the layout I made a second title which could also incorporate the Clowning Around title.   This idea wound up being used as a challenge in a group I help admin for October.
Unfortunately I didn't film this one but it was a lot of fun to create.

I used  jewellery pieces, alphas from Kaszazz, black thread, black felt bow, watch pieces, circle chipboard Gesso, white cardstock, black cardstock, Rough and Tough by lili paper from fancypantsdesigns, Ready Set Go paper from American Crafts.

I swiped Gesso over the middle of my green paper.
Then I trimmed the green paper down a little and distressed the edges.

This paper really added a fun feel to the page and was perfect for scrapping my fun loving son.

Scrapbooking Memories Masters Challenge 2016 - Rainbow - Goodbye Is Hard

Task 3 in Scrapbooking Memories Masters Challenge 2016 was "Scrap a layoutthat features the colours of the rainbow.
This months magazine features some stunning examples of using the  colours of the rainbow in a layout.
I started by playing with a white sheet of cardstock and the colours of the rainbow in Distress Ink, Distress Stain, Mr Huey's Sprays and Dylusions Sprays.  I just played to create a rainbow to inspire me but then I continued to play with stamping, gesso, ink splats, etc and I wound up not wanting to waste it so I used it as my background.

Then I went through my flower stash to add another dimension of Rainbow to the layout.

Once I had chosen my photos I chose some die cuts and a scrap of blue paper to suit the photos and pull it all together.

I do love the result.
In addition to ink pads, sprays and stains I used metal flowers from D-lish Scraps, crocheted flowers from Kaszazz, paper flowers from Lincraft and from the jar I bought at the Destash Market, die cut fence and hearts I got in a swap, black thread, Viva Paint Pen in teal, brads, music washi, red ribbon roses, paper from Atlantic 12x12 paper pad from American Crafts, black cardstock, white cardstock.

Scrapbooking Memories Masters Challenge 2016- Lego Fun

Now that the Scrapbooking Memories Masters have been revealed I am blown away by the various things others used for Task 2.  My favourites are
The baby socks, just gorgeous and something I had planned on doing once my grandaughter grows out of those cute little socks.  On that note I would like to inform you that my first Grandchild arrived on November 23rd, Evelyn is just gorgeous.
The fans, so gorgeous.
And the Party Hat, I saved a couple of the paper bags I used for Mr E's party in November to use in a layout of his Birthday.
Here is my take on this task, I went with lego bricks.

In addition to flat lego bricks I used a cute silver ute charm, cork stars from a old D-lish Scraps Just Add Paper Kit and pieces from a cut apart from The Paper Loft called Dude words and titles.

What unconventional things have you used in your memory keeping?

Scrapbooking Memories Masters 2016 Prompts - Double Layout That Tells A Aspect Of You

I loved the prompts in Scrapbooking Memories Masters Challenge 2016 and decided to use them to challenge myself.  I changed my mind regarding submitting my layouts many times as doing them was about challenging myself more than anything.  I wound up submitting them but I was not chosen.  It was a fantastic experience and I really recommend giving it a go.

It was great getting this story told.

I used papers from Aldi, Ranger Clock Faces & Hands, resin roses & bird from Dlish Scraps Just Add Paper Kit Berry Bliss, Crocheted Flower from Kaszazz, paper doily, stickers from BoBunny Ambrosi, stickers from Teresa Collins Fabrications, metal buttons from a local haberdashery shop, paper flowers from a local craft store, paper flower from a local cheap shop, Creative Memories alphabet.
So will you try the Scrapbooking Memories Masters Challenge Prompts next year?

Taking Minimal Supplies - Scrapping on a Train

I was unsure how long I would be staying down to help my daughter after the birth of my granddaughter so I took 1 bag of scrapping supplies.
Unfortunately I wound up having to come home much earlier than I expected and so I scrapped for 10 minutes on the train as I was rather stressed.
So glad I precut papers to 8x8 as anything bigger was not doable on the fold down table.
The passengersthat were booked for the seats directly across from me didn't turn up so the lady next to me asked if she could move there so I did have a seat vacant next to me to put supplies on which made it a little easier to scrap.  The lady was also crafting, she was doing some lovely embroidery and also spread her supplies on the vacant seat next to her.

I took the 8x8 album I am working on.
I trimmed down 3 sheets from a 12x12 pad of Kraft cardstock from Kaisercraft and 5 sheets of white cardstock.
I took all I have left of Kaisercraft Ivy Crush.
My 2 6x6 pads from My Mind's Eye Noteable range that Heike gave me.
A bag of purple, white and yellow paper and felt flowers.
1 white doily, my yellow doily and purple doily.
A pack Instax baby girl themed die cuts.
The Instax freebie from Harvey Norman that was claimable in Better Homes and Gardens.
November's Just Add Paper Kit from D-lish Scraps.
A pack of baby girl themed embellishments from the LA DE DAH range
Jenni B baby stickers
Stickers from My Minds Eye Lime Twist range.
My 12 inch Trimmer.
Helmer Professional Acid Free Glue in a ziploc bag just in case.
My Smiggle case that is always packed with basic adhesive and small tool needs.

Here is the layout I whipped up.  It still needs the date of the photo to finish it but I am happy with what I created on a small fold down table on a train.
I love these gorgeous felt flowers from D-lish Scraps

So don't let limited space stop you from crafting.
What out places have you scrapped?

December Challenge List

Welcome to another month  of stunning scrapbooking challenges, as the list has grown to include many International Challenges I have made a change to the list format this month.  I will be splitting the list into Australian based challenges and International challenges, so make sure you scroll through and check out all the wonderful challenges as many allow entries from all over the world.
Please if I have put a challenge into the wrong catagory let me know, I worked hard to be correct but we can all make mistakes.

I will update this list throughout the month as Challenges become available or I find Challenges I was unaware of or get permission from Challenges I am awaiting permission to include.  Some Challenges are not available until the 5th, 10th or the 21st of the month so make sure you check back for more fantastic Chalenges.

Please if there are any Challenges you are aware of that I have missed let me know.
I am really loving participating in Challenges, it is getting me to craft more often, to do projects I may otherwise save to do later, and some there is the added challenge of completing them when I have limited supplies that meet the requirements but that just adds to the fun.

So now for the list, I will provide a link to each challenge that has a direct link for it and either their Facebook page, website, shop, whichever is appropriate so you have all the details you could possibly need.

Those that are in a Facebook Group I will link to the group, please contact admins of the group to let them know you are joining to participate in the challenges or look at the challenges as some admins have requested this due to the waiting list.

Project Life

Here is a list of Challenges that would suit creating Project Life layouts.  Note I do need to check the challenges that are new to the list and update this sublist.  I will update shortly.
Scrap the Boys have said they will accept PL layouts.
Scrap the Girls have said they will accept PL layouts.
Kraft+ Challenge accepts tradition layouts, art journalling, tags, etc so this challenge would suit PL I think.
Pixels and Paper accepts all forms of Scrapbooking and Memory Keeping.
ARTastic Challenge Blog accepts all forms of Scrapbooking as entries.
Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia accepts PL entries.
Show us your stuff accepts PL entries.
Scrapbook Boutique accepts scrapbooking, off the page, etc so I think it would suit PL.  The new challenge is posted on the 10th of each month.
Dusty Attic states in the August Moodboard Entry Rules (so assuming it is the same for December) that your project can be anything you desire including layouts, cards or off the page so it sounds like PL will be accepted.
