April 2019 Challenge List

Welcome to another month of stunning scrapbooking challenges.

I will try to update this list throughout the month as Challenges become available.

Please if there are any Challenges you are aware of that I have missed let me know.
I am really loving participating in Challenges, even if I save them to do at a later date.  It is getting me to craft more often which is always a good thing.

So now for the list, I will provide a link to each challenge that has a direct link for it and either their Facebook page, website, shop, whichever is appropriate so you have all the details you could possibly need.

Those that are in a Facebook Group I will link to the group, please contact admins of the group to let them know you are joining to participate in the challenges or look at the challenges as some admins have requested this due to the waiting list.

 Project Life

Here is a list of Challenges that would suit creating Project Life layouts.  Note I do need to check the challenges that are new to the list and update this sublist.  I will update shortly.

Scrap the Boys have said they will accept PL layouts.
Scrap the Girls have said they will accept PL layouts.
Kraft+ Challenge accepts tradition layouts, art journalling, tags, etc so this challenge would suit PL I think.
ARTastic Challenge Blog accepts all forms of Scrapbooking as entries.

Scrapbook Boutique accepts scrapbooking, off the page, etc so I think it would suit PL.  The new challenge is posted on the 10th of each month.
Dusty Attic states in the August Moodboard Entry Rules (so assuming it is the same) that your project can be anything you desire including layouts, cards or off the page so it sounds like PL will be accepted.

My scrappy friends who only scrap when at a crop, or who have stopped or reduced their time scrapping for any reason I think you will love some of these, have a look at each one.

Awareness Ribbon YouTube Hop

When working out themes for this year we wanted to have some themes we haven't done before and we had some great ideas suggested.  One that I was really passionate about was a project about Awareness so we decided to go with Using a Ribbon on your project and that the projects would be about raising Awareness about something important to the person creating the project for the hop.  So we have a wide variety of projects for you about various things that are important to Hop members.
It is interesting to see how everyone took this challenging themed and created such beautiful projects.

For this Hop we have a wonderful Sponsor who has donated a awesome prize pack so make sure you follow all the steps to enter the draw for your chance to win a fantastic bundle of goodies from Ruby Rock-It.

Check out all the gorgeous projects in this hop.

Each member of the hop chose what was important to them to raise awareness and how they would interpret that into their art.

Here is the hop order so you can find the videos you would like.

And here is the Playlist I created for the Hop.

For my project I decided to make a Banner for the Endo High Tea I was hosting on March 30th.  You can find a blog post about my High Tea here.

I started by gathering everything yellow I could easily get to on my desk so as to make playing and creating easier.  As I progressed I grabbed out some gorgeous Crafter's Choice bling and a pack of Bella! wedding themed wood veneer.

Items Used
Ruby Rock-It Faded Empire Chipboard alphas
Bella Wedding wood veneer
Crafter's Choice Bling
Scrapping Fun Kits September 2018 Kit.
Twine from Scrapping Fun Kits January 2018 Kit
Tissue paper from Scrapping Fun Kits TN promo kit
Dear Lizzy Happy Place 6x6 paper pad
Pink Paislee Summer Lights 6x6 paper pad
Doodlebug Designs Petite Prints 6x6 paper pad
Helmar Acid Free Glue
Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
Mini Distress Ink Mustard Seed
Ribbons from Lincraft
Banner from Officeworks

I initially intended to just create with without letters so that it could be reused for other events like Easter or my daughter's Birthday but once I had my 4 pennants decorated I felt they needed the letters so they would look finished so I grabbed out some gorgeous Ruby Rock-It Acid Free Chipboard gold alphas and spelt out ENDO on my pennants.

I love how my banner turned out, it looked so cute on the table at my Endo High Tea.

Fortnite Birthday Party DIYS - Helmar Creative Team

My son really wanted a Fortnite party for his 12th Birthday and there wasn’t much available that suited so I did a few quick DIY’s for it, I wanted to share with you how I created some of them with Helmar.

Supply DROP container

You will need
Blue storage container
Yellow Cardstock to die cut the letters
Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
Helmar Crystal Kote Matte Varnish

Cut 2 lots of the letters DROP from yellow cardstock in a sort of stencil font, I used my Silhouette Curio for this but you could do it by hand also.

Adhere the letters to each side of the container with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

Once Dry give the letters a coat of Helmar Krystal Kote Matte Varnish to protect them.
On the day of the party tie a Yellow balloon to the handles for the DROP to arrive.

Chug Jugs

You will need
Cans of soft drink
Printable chug jug labels
Hemlar Premium Craft Glue

Once you have printed the labels and cut them out adhere them to your cans with Helmar Premium Craft Glue.

Med Kits

You will need
White Cardstock
Red paper, serviette or tissue paper scraps cut into inch wide strips
White paper scraps
Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA

Cut the box shape out of the white cardstock, I used my Silhouette Curio and a box template I found online and sized the file so I could get 2 to a A4 sheet.

Assemble the boxes with Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA
Adhere the red strip (I cut mine from a red serviette) around the box.
Adhere a white + (I just cut mine from scrap printer paper) to the top of the box on the red strip.
Before sealing the red strip I added a clear glitter high bounce ball and some lollies in it.

Mini brown paper pags for Fries

You will need
Brown Paper Bags
Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA
12 inch trimmer
Cut each paper bag in quarters.
Cut a half inch away from what will be the bottom for the bags from the top half.
Fold over the side and bottom and glue with Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA.

I bought some French Fries Origninal chips and put them in small ziploc bags to keep them fresh until the kids ate them, this went inside the mini brown paper bags.  And they were put on the table next to Burger Gummie lollies from Aldi and served with Pizza.
The kids loved that they were getting Fortnite food.

I also applied Shield Potion labels I found online to water bottles.  I filled the Drop Box with the Chug Jugs, Shield Potions and $1 water guns from The Reject Shop so it served as a supply drop and prompted a water fight.

I was hoping to convert a donky pinata to a Fortnite Llama pinata by removing the rainbow tissue papers and adhering the correct colours to it with Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA but I ran out of time so I just glued a printable version of the saddle bags to my rainbow donky with Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA the kids loved it but I couldn't get a good photo as the wind kept blowing it sideways.  It took a while to break due to the wind as the kids kept missing it so we ditched the blindfold due to the wind.

This all came together quickly and they kids loved it all.   Much fun was had and lots of happy memories on the day.
